Description:

1970 FORD MUSTANG BOSS 302 ROLLING CHASSIS From MustangBeginnings THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO RESTORE YOUR OWN BOSS 302 MUSTANG HISTORY: The man who came up with the name Boss 302 was stylist Larry Shinoda. The Boss 302, introduced in 1969, was Ford's answer to Camaro Z/28 in SCCA TransAm racing series. Although the 1969 Boss 302 showed a lot of promise by winning the first 3 out of 5 races, it won no more races that year. However, in 1970, with drivers Parnelli Jones and George Follmer, Boss 302 dominated TransAm with 6 wins, 5 seconds, and 4 thirds, culminating in Parnelli Jones winning the driver championship. Rated at 290 HP, the Boss 302 was actually putting out closer to 350 HP with race versions making 450 Horse’s at over 8,000 RPM. 1970 was the year before Ford’s decade of Total Performance drew to a close which now makes these race bred vintage Mustangs one of the most Collectible Muscle Cars of all time. THIS PARTICULAR 1970 BOSS 302 REPRESENTS AN EXTREMELY RARE OPPORTUNITY TO ACQUIRE ONE OF THESE TREASURED CLASSICS, and its options are authenticated by the Marti Auto report shown below. This Boss left the factory painted Yellow with a Black interior, just like the picture of the restored Boss 302 that we completed about 6 months ago. See picture of finished yellow Boss in with the pictures below. It had the famed Boss 302 engine with the four speed close ratio “toploader” transmission. BODY: There is normal amount of rust repair to deal with on this Boss. What's there is in the usual areas, floors, lower quarters, and doors. The front frame rails are strong, but the car will need torque boxes and frame rail extensions under new floors on both sides. If you are not into doing the rust repair yourself, we can do everything for you for an extra $2500, or we will include the missing pieces, pre-fitted and tack-welded in place and you can finish the welding yourself assuming the car meets the reserve price. This car is a great foundation for your very own Boss 302! PAINT: The car is currently in primer. If you want us to finish the rust repair (add $2500), and paint the car Original Yellow or any color you would like, please add an additional $1500. INTERIOR: This car has its original high back bucket seats and the rear seat. The instrument panel is there, but the car will need a new dash pad, which is normal. For new upholstery, carpet and dash pad, add $900 for the parts, or $1500 installed. DRIVETRAIN: The drive train did not come with this Boss 302 when we purchased it. If you don't have your own Boss engine, please let us know. We will be listing a couple of Boss 302's engines on EBay in the near future. SUSPENSION: The suspension is correct with disk brakes in the front, large front sway bar, rear sway bar, and of course the staggered shock mounting plates and shocks are all there. This car would make an awesome Trans Am clone like the Boss 302 Trans Am classics shown in the pictures GLASS: All the glass is in good condition. MISC. There were some parts in the car that I am including. There is a pair of sport mirrors, rear valence, bumper brackets, wiper motor and linkage.
